Astrological Forecast for January 11-17, 2007by Ellen Zucker
When we look back several years from now at the middle to the late years of this decade, we will realize just how profoundly our political, social, and business environments are shifting, and, just how much we have been shifting personally.
As this process advances, there will be individual occurrences that hint of the much greater movement down below. Think of sporadic above ground seismic activity as markers for tectonic plates constantly in motion.
Our reactions will vary. Sometimes we will be driven by emotion, such as last November when despair and disgust prompted many staunch Republicans to raise the lever for Democrat candidates for the first time.
But as we progress through this month, the personal planets, Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars shift to the cool Saturn ruled signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. We take a more pragmatic and detached approach.
In this newsletter, I will shift my focus from close-up to wide-angle and back.
Being aware of the long-view, gives us the opportunity to find and redefine our place in the changing environment. This is helps us perform both personal life planning and long-term business strategic planning.
But the near focus is essential, too. Being aware of the markers along the way and stones in our path keeps us on our feet.
This week we will do a bit of both. First we will put on our macro lens to examine the upcoming week.
As it bounces through the late degrees of Sagittarius, getting ready to enter Capricorn (which it does on Tuesday), Mars meets Pluto.
This event, which occurs every two years, carries the possibility of violence in the headlines. Pluto represents deep transformation and change: Mars is our inner warrior.
This is a deeply creative and explosive energy. On the positive side, we have the option to remake ourselves to adaptto our changing enviroment andrediscover our authenticity and vitalityin the process. On the negative side, molehills can blow up into mountains-or simply just blow up mountains.
With Sun and Mercury in calm Capricorn and Venus in cool Aquarius, we may be cool on the exterior, but below-the-surface tension can surface as an explosion coming out of the blue.
This aspect will be in play from Thursday through Saturday. If you have planets or sensitive points at or near 27 degrees of mutable signs (Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, Virgo) you may feel this aspect more directly than most.
Then warrior Mars marches into Capricorn where he stays until the end of February. Astrologers consider structured Capricorn an excellent place for Mars.
Capricorn provides discipline for Mars just as professional military organizations emphasize discipline for their troops.
In our personal lives, Mars is raw energy, our desires, our anger and assertiveness. In business, Mars represents competitive energy and the desire for innovation.
So where are you going to channel your Mars energy?
Monday, Mercury, planet of communication, enters Aquarius for a three-week stay. We remain detached, opening up to intellectual approaches and forward-looking perspectives.
This week Jupiter moves to square Uranus, an aspect that will move in and out of exactitude during the first ten months of the year. This aspect generates energy - and action - between two forward-looking planets.
Jupiter likes to take the birds-eye view - the broad perspective. It also can represent the judicial system, people of high social standing and legal activity.
Uranus is involved with newer technologies and change. So... the potential is a changed outlook or a willingness to entertain alternatives. Also there is a possibility of surprise in the legal front. Marketing and legal strategy are two areas that can particularly benefit from fresh approaches.
Last year, the two planets formed a trine, an easy exchange of energies. But with the square, there is greater momentum to act on concepts originally presented last year this year.
The judicial system, academia, travel, law firms, publishing, and public relations oriented businesses may particularly benefit from incorporating new technologies or upgrading their computer systems this year.
Sometimes Uranus can represent disruption and union activity. The above-mentioned industries may find legal and labor issues coming to the fore.
Daily Forecasts Times listed are based on Eastern Time Zone.
January 11 The Moon is in fair-minded Libra. Choosing and working with suitable partners is one way to grease your way to the top. But productive partnerships, like most relations, benefit from care and feeding. The trick is to balance your needs with the needs of your partners so youboth create a win-win situation.
January 12 Lighthearted Venus and Jupiter dance while the Moon enters intense Scorpio. We operate on two levels. We feel lifted by Venus and Jupiter's gaiety and optimism, but our emotions run deep. Pay attention to what is not being said.
January 13 This is a day of much activity. Mars shakes hands with Pluto. Our powers of focus can move mountains today. The key is to focus: and to choose your focus carefully.
January 14 This morning, the intensity of the last day or two lingers, but at 1:11 pm, the Moon enters Sagittarius and the mood lightens. Get to the point, say what needs to be said, then move on and enjoy the day.
January 15 Today is Martin Luther King's birthday. We are more forward looking as Mercury enters Aquarius. Mercury is comfortable in a compatible air sign. Mercury in Aquarius is an abstract thinker. It is a mentally stimulating day as Moon meets curious Jupiter and is challenged by maverick Uranus.
January 16 Mars moves to Capricorn today. Capricorn is an excellent environment for Mars because it gives the fiery planet discipline and focus. We are well positioned to get tangible results from our efforts during the six weeks of his visit.
Today is a day with the potential for much accomplishment. Saturn greets the Moon as we settle into the workday. After a three-day weekend we are ready to dig into our inbox. Later in the day, the Moon meets Pluto, then Mars. The key to productivity is dealing head on with our emotions.
January 17 The Moon in Capricorn coupled with the Sun in Capricorn favors a no-nonsense approach to our businesses and our lives. The first step is structural analysis. In other words, if we want to know where we are going we have to take a realistic look at where we are today and what brought us here.
