Astrological Forecast for February 1-7, 2007by Ellen Zucker
Watch what happens when you dip the corner of a sheet of paper into water. The dry corner sucks up the moisture like a wick, darkeningits hue and softening its edges. As the moisture spreads through the page, its ink bleeds and sharp edges of print begins to diffuse and blur.
Friday morning, Mercury joins Venus and Uranus in Pisces. Venus in Pisces opens our heart. Mercury moves from the mode of detached observation to poetry.
Poetry's truth is no less valid than the truth obtained by detached observation in a laboratory. The difference is, its truth is an emotional truth - not the one that pays homage to the gods of data.
In the past weeks we have been dwelling almost exclusively in the realm of logic, analysis and left-brain thinking. And this is where the week begins.
We begin our week as the Moon in fiery, emotional Leo faces down the Sun in detached, analytical Aquarius. This Full Moon, exact in the wee hours of Friday morning, asks us to balance our ego need for self-expression and the demands of the community.
But the Leo/Aquarius Full Moon is also the culmination of the first lunar cycle of 2007 that began in the late degrees of Capricorn.
Capricorn pushes us to build structure, go after accomplishment, and to engage in setting annual goals.
But as the Sun slipped from Capricorn into Aquarius we were reminded that even the most self-sufficient individual - or entity - needs the vitality and support of external society to survive. The most hidebound business enterprise needs approval from society, although the amount need only be grudgingly sufficient to permit the separation of a market from its money.
Is your goal-setting broad enough to take account of the social environment in which you find yourself?
Because Aquarius looks to the future it is important that your plans are flexible enough to accommodate the world that is coming into being.
Now, in the light of the Moon's fullness, look around and admire the roadmap you've laid out so far.
At the beginning of this lunar cycle, our planetary lineup largely occupied the dry and logical signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. Pragmatic Capricorn and detached Aquarius propel us in the direction of logic, reason, and the accumulation of data to support our proposed actions.
Venus and now Mercury entering Pisces ask us if the numbers align with our gut. One can be completely supported by data and be totally off the mark. But when the left brain and right brain align, the combination is unstoppable.
The couple days surrounding a Full Moon is often a time when people make decisions - a point worth noting for all of those in sales chasing down prospects. This is particularly true of the current Full Moon which activates Mars, planet of action, and Uranus, planet of change. The headlines could be interesting this weekend.
As the Moon advances on Friday, it meets up with Saturn and a few hours later, faces down Neptune. This is likely to trigger issues brought up by the Saturn/Neptune face-down at the end of August of last year.
Lastly, it is time for another Mercury Retrograde alert. Mercury will be retrograde from February 13th to March 8th.
As seen from the skewed perspective of Earth, Mercury appears to travel backwards three times a year. We call that apparent backward motion 'retrograde.'
When Mercury is in retrograde mode, it is best to use the time to refine, review, and reorganize. It is also highly recommended that you double check your scheduling, be diligent about backing up your computer, and delay signing major contracts during this period. See my bonus article 9 Ways to Turn Mercury Retrograde into a Positive for more detail.
Daily Forecasts Times listed are based on Eastern Time Zone.
February 1 Our spirits lift as Moon enters ebullient Leo. We are feeling the Full Moon energy and things are ready to pop. Expect fencesitters to make a decision now..
February 2 The Full Moon takes place in the wee hours, followed by Mercury's entrance into Pisces. Communications get fuzzier, but only if your right brain is not turned on. What do yourinstincts tell you?
With Moon contacting Neptune, then Saturn, whatever was unresolved last summer is rearing its ugly head again.
February 3 Some shifts open opportunity. We are eager to embrace the future as the Sun and Jupiter, and Mars and Uranus dance nicely together.
February 4 We want to continue dreaming about the future, but Moon in Virgo distracts us with details that require our attention. How annoying.
February 5 Moon moves into Libra as we begin the workweek. The challenge is integrating our changed perspective into our dealings with others. Still when Moon is in Libra we like to gloss over the rough spots and highlight cooperation.
February 6 The spirit of cooperation lingers. With the Sun and Moon in air signs, it is a good time to network and socialize.
February 7 The Moon harmonizes nicely with the Sun and Neptune. Stay loose and go with the flow. Venus meets Uranus opening the door to the unexpected.
