Astrological Forecast for February 22 - 28, 2007by Ellen Zucker
Herding planets is not unlike herding cats. Just as you get the group pulling in one direction more or less... someone decides to break away. The configuration coming into play this week makes me think of the RWS Tarot card, The Chariot, whose image depicts a charioteer using the force of his will to get the sphinxes to pull together.
Yesterday, sweet Venus left Pisces to enter Aries where she displays her feisty side.
Venus deals with the way we attract people and resources. It also describes what we find attractive in other people, clothing, design, and objects in general.
In Aries, the first sign of spring, Venus is bold and innovative. Here, she is impulsive, passionate, and does not get overly concerned about such niceties as stepping on toes. This Venus wears bright colors, heavy perfume, and doesn't sit idly by the telephone waiting for it to ring.
In business, Venus represents assets, credit, contract negotiations and the ability to create partnerships and alliances. In Aries, the desire is to move forward and take action, sometimes on impulse. But with Mercury still in retrograde motion, it's best to channel that energy on old business for now.
This week, the opposition between Saturn and Neptune comes to a peak. This is a long lasting transit that ebbs and flows until separating in the mid-summer. During this transit vision clashes with reality. The challenge is to make your visions - your dreams concrete and retain their vitality and richness. Or to put it another way, finding a way to live in the 'real world' without losing our spirit.
You can reread my discussion of the topic in this past issue of Celestial Currents,
Also this week, Mercury meets the Sun in its current backward trajectory. This Mercury/Sun conjunction, as we astrologers call it, is the midpoint of Mercury's retrograde journey. A seed is being planted, but Mercury will not reveal its secrets until it resumes direct motion next month. So it is still advisable to hold off on making major commitments.
On Monday, Mercury returns to Aquarius. Our thought processes morph from that of the poet to the scientist. With Mercury still moving backwards, detached observation is an excellent way to use the energy.
Also, in this last week of February, Mars moves from practical Capricorn to detached Aquarius. The two Aquarian planets provide a welcome balance to Venus in fiery Aries and Sun in mellow Pisces. As February comes to an end, left-brained logic balances passion and instinct.
Daily Forecasts Times listed are based on Eastern Time Zone.
February 22 The Sun and Mercury meet today. Expect lots of communication, but with Mercury still in retrograde motion, it is best to open yourself to receive information and refrain from commitment.
Moon in Taurus is a welcome steadying influence while its soft contact with exciting Uranus keeps the afternoon from getting dull.
February 23 This is a tale of two days. The morning moves calmly as Moon glides through mellow Taurus. We can accomplish a great deal before the Moon goes Void at 2:47 pm. Then, at 5:42 pm, Moon enters lively Gemini and we are ready to get social for the weekend.
February 24 This morning the moon completes its first quarter. Whatever you've begun around the time of last week's New Moon begins to take focus. Surprise is in the air this evening as Moon squares Uranus. Something is said that throws us off guard or something mechanical acts up.
February 25 Our dreams mirror the background music of the ongoing Saturn/Neptune opposition as Moon trines Neptune, then just minutes later, makes a soft sextile to Saturn. Your dreams may contain keys to a puzzle. Keep a journal by your bedside.
Mars enters Aquarius tonight for a six week stay. Our focus is more forward looking now. It is notenough to just do for ourselves.
We have to consider our environment, too.
February 26 The mood turns languid as we wake up to Moon in its home sign of watery Cancer. With Sun in Pisces and Moon in Cancer our skins are highly permeable. It is particularly important to surround yourself with a positive environment with this combination. A relaxing stint in the hot tub or a warm bath would feel particularly lovely now.
February 27 Mercury has entered Aquarius last night. Our thinking is less muddled. Nonetheless, with Moon still gliding through Cancer, our instincts speak a little louder.
February 28 We perk up with the entrance of the Moon into fiery Leo at 6:29 am. Emotions run high in the morning as Moon faces down recalcitrant Mars. But Mercury makes a sextile, a soft aspect, to Pluto. If we don't blow up, there is opportunity to put our concerns on the table and be heard.
