The intertwining of two major planetary configurations provides a very dynamic beginning to an interesting week.
First, we have a 'grand cross.' This is a configuration of 4 planets in right angles to each other. A grand cross indicates blocked energy, particularly when it is in fixed signs as it is here.
But fortunately we have the liberating outlet of a grand trine; 3 planets that form a triangle with each other. Trines are flowing energy.
So the week starts out with hard energy that motivates us and soft energy that keeps circulating 'round' and 'round.'
The significant point is, this week the aspects become exact. Long developing situations come to a head and cause us to shift our perspective.
Both configurations, which have been moving into place over a period of weeks, reflect situations that have developed over a period of time and will continue to linger.
The availability and allocation of our resources remains the focus of our attention in our personal lives and in the headlines.
One planet, Jupiter ties both configurations together.
Jupiter sends out a siren song, seducing us with optimism and a feeling of well being, tempting us to overextend ourselves.
Be careful! Jupiter is in Scorpio, the sign of power and control (also of banking and credit agencies who demand control as the price of lending you money).
Overextending yourself can be costly.

Fortunately, Mercury enters Taurus on Friday, and the Moon enters Virgo for the weekend. This helps us ground our thinking process.

Today is a day for fun. Open yourself up to something new and exciting. The mood is upbeat. Be aware that the Sun's opposition to Jupiter makes it easy to overindulge.
May 5
Today we experience the First Quarter moon. Since our resources aren't equal to our desires, we have to decide what we most value.
Mercury enters Taurus, slowing our thinking but making us more grounded. Practicality is the word.
May 6
We have lots of energy and enthusiasm today as Mars energy flows with Jupiter. The Moon entered Virgo in the early morning hours.
It's a good day for spring cleaning!

The week's optimism dims later in the day as our thoughts and feelings turn to things as they are - versus things as we'd like them to be.A little reality is a good thing. Don't let your thoughts get you down.

Today, stick to routines.

Take a moment to smell the roses. Literally. Our appreciation of the beautiful things in life is heightened today.
As the Sun moves to square Neptune, our creativity and intuition is heightened. Read poetry, paint a painting, daydream.
Just don't believe everything you hear.

The Neptune influence becomes exact in the early morning. Our dreams may have important information for us.
