Forecast for May 11 to May 17, 2006by Ellen Zucker
Last week's themes carry forward into this week.
Our feelings of buoyancy and optimism are still with us, but not in such sharp focus. The planets in last week's water triangle, while is still in orb, are moving out of this configuration. As they do the euphoria wanes.
Sun and Moon move into opposition this weekend. We call it a Full Moon. Again we find ourselves re-examining our values as we are called upon to pay seemingly infinite claims upon our quite finite resources. Being honest with ourselves and with others will help us make the wisest decisions.
While this drama is seen most clearly on the national stage, it also plays out in our individual lives.
All of us have been digging deeper into our wallets to pay for gasoline at the pump.
On an individual level, now is the optimum time to get up to date on your financial planning and budgeting. Planet Mercury zipping along in sensible Taurus until May 19 makes it easy to focus on the sensible and the pragmatic.
In fact, Mercury zips merrily along all month and into the beginning of June, providing favorable conditions for making progress in our day-to-day activities and projects. By mid-June, Mercury will begin to slow in preparation to its retrograde dance in July, so negotiate and sign important contracts sooner rather than later.
The Full Moon chart is an interesting one. All of the planets hold hands and dance with each other, with the exception of one; Pluto, the elephant in the room. Except for fleeting contacts by the Moon this week, Pluto sits by himself.
A planet making no contact with another planet is unpredictable. With no moderating influences it tends to make its presence felt very strongly or not at all. This is particularly true with Pluto, the 'all or nothing' planet. Pluto tends to remain absolutely silent or power struggles take center stage.
In the past couple weeks I have written much about our struggles around the wise use of our limited resources. Planet Pluto represents hidden resources. So additionalresources are available, but we don't know about them or we just can't get to them.
Stay tuned. And in the meantime, I invite you to read an article that sums up the situation beautifully.
May 11
Today's aspects are an interesting combination. On the one hand, Moon enters intense Scorpio this morning (8:25 am) turning our emotions inward. Yet with Mercury opposing Jupiter, we tend to think big.
Give your thoughts room today. Step back and take in the larger vision, but remember that the 'devil is in the details.'
May 12
Our mind remains active as Mercury forms an easy aspect to Uranus (sextile). Research, communicate, and ask questions. Evaluate information that you have generated and implement plans that work. This is a good day for original thinking.
May 13
Today is the Full Moon (22 Scorpio/Taurus). All Full Moons are oppositions. Give and take is key to make both sides work with each other.
This has been a very active lunar cycle and we have absorbed a great deal. We now make decisions and issues come to a head.
Our mood lifts this afternoon as Moon enters Sagittarius.
It's also a good day for writers to write and the rest of us to communicate as Mercury sextile Mars gives us the ability to assert ourselves.
May 14
Happy Mother's Day. The afternoon is pleasant time for gatherings of family and friends as Moon makes a flowing trine to Venus. But people pull away from too much togetherness by evening as Moon moves into a harsh aspect to Uranus. This happens in part our expectations aren't always realistic. As Sun moves to square Neptune, it is difficult to see things clearly. Meditation helps center us.
May 15
Pleasant dreams greet us as we awaken in the morning. The afternoon can bring intensity as Moon moves over Pluto. Remember this is just a passing mood. Kick back this evening.
May 16
Moon in Capricorn brings us down to earth and back to business. Today can be productive because we can focus.
May 17
Today is another productive day despite some distraction in the am. You are able to keep your mind focused.
Make hay while the sun shines.
