This week's big news is ... news! The wee hours of Saturday morning (Eastern time zone) bring us a New Moon in Gemini. And Gemini, the sign of information gathering and communication rules such fields as journalism.

Last week, we started to feel a quickening of the pace as the Sun and Gemini's ruling planet, Mercury, entered Gemini. When a planet enters the sign it rules, its influence is particularly strong. Unlike a visit in another sign where his actions are colored by a different set of rules, a planet coming to his own sign is like a weary traveler coming home. Home is where you can let down your hair and truly be who you are.
During this period, which began last Saturday, quick moving Mercury feels his oats. Communication, social activity and information gathering of all types take center stage and our mental processes are in high gear.
But this Saturday, the New Moon at 6 degrees of Gemini kicks off the whirl in earnest. Like busy bees, we buzz in constant motion. At the moment of the New Moon, Mercury will have just finished making a square - a hard aspect - to Uranus, the planet of surprise and excitement. Expect some startling headlines Friday or Saturday.
If you have any planets or sensitive points in your own chart near 14 or 15 degrees of the mutable signs: Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius, there may be some unexpected news in your own life.
And if you have any writing projects, make hay while the sun shines. Words flow easily now. You find it easy to interview people, and dig up and organize information. Mercury's sojourn through Gemini, from now until June 3rd is a particularly favorable time for such pursuits.
Plus, a New Moons, or 'Lunation,' is a new beginning. Take advantage of this energy to begin any kind of communication, networking, or information gathering.
The key is to remain focused. Gemini energy is easily scattered. To Gemini, possibilities are endless, and each new one is more beguiling than the last. But if we don't channel this energy, it dissipates.
Later, as June advances, Mercury will slow and you will find the going more difficult.
The other news this week is the entry of Venus into its home sign of Taurus. For the past three-and-a-half weeks, Venus has traveled through aggressive Aries where it is not particularly comfortable. But Venus's entry into Taurus will prod us into beautifying our surroundings.

Venus makes a flowing aspect with Pluto. It is a day when you can attract what you want once you've decided what you value. Wrap up any loose ends from projects started these past few weeks.
Tonight, relax.

Startling news and unexpected surprise as Mercury, the planet of communications clashes with Uranus, the planet of surprise. Don't take action until you've had time to process the information - at least until the Moon goes into Gemini at 3:19 pm (EDT). Our minds will be clearer then.

The Gemini New Moon greets us in the wee hours and gives us a boost that lasts all day. It's a very lively, quick moving day. The Sun makes a harmonious aspect (sextile) to Saturn giving us some needed grounding.
Tonight, party.
May 28
Another lively day. You may find that holding back your tongue is wise around mid-day when someone's power play gums up the works. But the air clears later on.
The evening is calm and pleasant.

Happy Memorial Day! All in all, it's a very pleasant day to spend with family and close friends. Venus enters Taurus today for a month-long stay. Kick back, smell the roses, and put something tasty on the grill.

We are energized as we go back to work. Moon in Cancer is a positive antidote to excessive Gemini energy. It reminds us that words have consequences and our feelings count, too.

We want to strut our stuff when the Moon goes into proud Leo. But so does everyone else. What seems perfect on the outside is mere posturing. Other people have old wounds and experience pain - just like us.
