Astrological Forecast for November 9 to 15, 2006

by Ellen Zucker

Much transformation happens below the surface. We may not be aware of it until the process is well advanced. Then we find that we have indeed under-gone a shift; that our attitudes and reactions have changed.

Oftentimes, the larger world stage is a metaphor for aspects of our daily personal struggles. The primary difference is that energies here are usually expressed in a cruder form than in our personal lives where we can calibrate our responses.

This year we have experienced - and are still experiencing - profound shift. This is described by configurations of slower moving planets such as the 'T square' of Saturn opposition Neptune squared by Jupiter, that has been operating on and off for the past year.

The Saturn-Neptune opposition - whose effects are still being felt - has resulted in disillusionment. Our leaders have feet of clay and the emperor has no clothes. Meanwhile, Jupiter in Scorpio warns us that overindulgence is costly.

If these aspects have touched off sensitive points in your personal chart, then disillusionment and overin-dulgence have been playing out in a direct way in your personal life. If you don't like the reality that Saturn has revealed, your challenge is to take effective action to change it.

Corruption and scandal has highlighted the extent to which institutions of the national government have ceased to represent the interests of the electorate. Our consternation and despair is setting the stage for far more powerful reactions as the cost of squandering our resources becomes more and more apparent.

The election results are a testament to a shift in public attitude: a transformation of our national psyche that is only just beginning.

Even after election returns are fully sorted out, the most likely outcome is a gridlocked Federal government, although the salutory effect of that change should not be underestimated.

The real change begins in 2008, when over a two-year period, three powerful planets, Pluto, Uranus, and Saturn, will enter cardinal signs. Then, in the early years of the next decade they will square off with one-another.

Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) are signs of action. And the more distant planets, sometimes called 'outer planets,' describe societal and cultural shifts.

As these planets move into cardinal signs, the public will become far more active in political and civic affairs. Political and economic pressure will continue to build causing national and world events to become increasingly dynamic and volatile as we complete this decade and go on to the next.

More on this in future issues.

Daily Forecasts
Specific timing is based on Eastern Time Zone

November 9
The fog we feel in the morning dissipates as the day goes on. Nonetheless, with 7 planets in water signs (including Moon in Cancer), the 'right brain' is in charge. Your intuition speaks loudly today. Today you can communicate from the heart.

November 10
The right brain runs the show again today. The workday is pleasant as the Moon makes soft contacts with sweet Venus and upbeat Jupiter. After the moon goes void at 4:00 pm, knock off, go home and relax. You may get a second wind at 9:36 pm and realize you want to party anyway.

November 11
The tendency is to be bombastic today as Mercury, planet of communication, meets up with Mars, planet of assertion. Moon in Leo makes us want to see and be seen.

November 12
Today, Venus squares off with the stern Saturn. Saturn challenges our sense of self worth. The feeling lasts only for a day. Let it pass and do something practical. Such as taking a look at your spending.

November 13
What a great day to do some brainstorming. Mercury trines Uranus: we get wonderful ideas by talking to others. The Virgo moon gives us grounding and detachment so we don't get carried away.

November 14
We see much but say little. Our right brain streamof consciousness feeds us much information, but the Virgo moon quietly observes and organizes the detail.

November 15
This is a good day to around people, especially those for whom you must make a good impression. When Venus and Jupiter meet, as they do today, people are buoyant, easy going, and forgiving.
