Astrological Forecast for November 23 to 29, 2006

by Ellen Zucker

Can you feel your ears popping? The mood has turned so quickly it is dizzying.

In the past month, the outer landscape was dour. Our energy had turned inwards as we cleaned house of mental (and, in some cases, physical) baggage.

But that was then, when 50% of the planets congregated in Scorpio. Now, Venus, the planet of relating, the Sun, our center, Pluto, planet of power, and late tonight, Jupiter, planet of expansion, will be in upbeat Sagittarius, an intellectual, mutable fire sign.

Scorpio is a water sign. Each fire sign follows a water sign. Water signs fertilize soil paving the way for fire's vitality.

Now that we've ditched our lead weights, our hot air balloon is soaring. We feel good and we are ready to face the future.

Jupiter is our hot air balloon. He carries us gently and safely, expanding our horizons in the process. This week we celebrate Thanksgiving. The very next day, Jupiter goes into his home sign of Sagittarius for a year-long stay.

There, it will join Venus and the Sun in this outgoing, ebullient sign. Jupiter is very comfortable in Sagittarius, a signcompatible with his expansive energy.

When you fly, you travel great distances in short periods of time. You are just far enough away so you can see how little pieces fit with each other and form larger patterns.

We are flying now and we are able to take the long view about issues affecting our businesses, our lives and even the body politic.

Jupiter's ability to help us see patterns is one reason the planet is associated with public decisions and judgments that follow social standards and set our public policy. The process and its effects will become more clear.

For example, the newly elected Democratic Congress intends to ask many questions of the current administration, shedding light on actions past and present.

But the top story is we have a rare and wonderful occurrence: every planet is traveling forward. It is the only time this year when that will happen and only for two weeks (until Saturn turns retrograde on December 5th).

The waxing moon period that began with this past Monday's new moon reinforces the 'can-do' momentum. Projects begun now get a boost by the push generated by this two-week portion of the lunar cycle.

We recently experienced Mercury's retrograde period, but all planets (except the Sun and Moon) spend some time retrograde, the apparent backward motion as viewed from Earth. The more distant planets may spend over half a year in retrograde motion. So it is very special when every planet is moving ahead.

Our balloon is flying. Now is an excellent time to engage in marketing and promotional campaigns of all kinds. People are curious - more receptive to new ideas and willing to take risks than they have been in past months.

Still, we may not quite ready to fully embrace the good cheer. Mercury and Mars, lagging behind in Scorpio, add just a touch of skepticism to the mix.

Sagittarius is the traditional ruler of publishing, travel, teaching, and adventure. Activities in these areas can advance now. So can inter-national business and dealings with people from foreign cultures.

At the same time, it is important to keep a sense of balance. This energy is prone to excess and we can easily overextend ourselves. Like a hot air balloon, when things get out of hand, heads swell. It is easy to get bombastic and overly judgmental of others.

Although the spirit of all of us should feel buoyed now, people whose charts are touched by the moving planets will feel these effects most strongly.

Daily Forecasts
Specific timing is based on Eastern Time Zone

November 23
Happy Thanksgiving. Moon in Capricorn compels us to fulfill our familial obligations as we gather for the Thanksgiving Day feast. The Sagittarius Sun brings outward cheer, but be alert for undercurrent at the holiday meal.

November 24
Use the energy of the Moon, still in Capricorn, to think through, prepareand stick to your budget amidst the temptations of 'Black Friday.'

November 25
Venus clashes with Uranus today. The storyline is about relationships and surprise. Women speak their mind.

November 26
Yesterday's issues come up in conversation today and we clear the air. Tonight, take in a good movie.

November 27
The mood changes as the Moon shifts into languid Pisces at 3:21 pm. Go with the flow.

November 28
Today is a complex day. With Moon in Pisces and Mercury, the planet of our mental processes clashing with nebulous Neptune, our thinking is driven more by feeling rather than fact. Mars, the planet of action clashes with Saturn, the planet of restriction. We can't always get what we want.

Just let it go for now.

November 29
Take it easy today and hold off doing anything of substance until 6:30 pm when the Moon goes into Aries. Then reach for the toy you've been waitingfor.
